CRASH OF A BRISTOL BEAUFORT
AT BAIRNSDALE, VIC
ON 12 MARCH 1943

Bristol Beaufort

RAAF Mark VII Bristol Beaufort A9-104 ground looped at Bairnsdale on 12 March 1943 when the starboard tyre burst on takeoff. The crew comprised P/O S. Davies and F/O A. Gillespie.

This aircraft was originally delivered to the RAAF in August 1942. It was converted to components after this crash.
