CRASH OF A BRISTOL BEAUFORT
4 MILES SOUTH OF LAVERTON

Bristol Beaufort
RAAF Mark VI Bristol Beaufort, A9-83, took off at 1400 hours and then crashed 4 miles south of Laverton on 29 April 1943 due to engine failure.
The crew of the aircraft were as follows:-
Sgt. S.W. Hillman (Pilot)
Sgt. Arthur Oswald Chellis (Navigator)
Sgt. J.M. Penglase
Sgt. A.H. Overland
This aircraft was originally delivered to the RAAF in July 1942. It was converted to components after this crash.
