RAAF Mark VI Bristol Beaufort, A9-57 (RAF Serial No. T9624), was damaged when the pilot, F/Sgt G.P. Cogan, accidentally retracted the undercarriage instead of the flaps while still on the ground at Bairnsdale on 7 November 1942.
This aircraft was originally delivered to the RAAF in June 1942. It was "not taken up". It was converted to components after the accident.
