CRASH OF A BRISTOL BEAUFORT
AT BENGWARDEN MASTHEAD BOMBING RANGE
ON 4 APRIL 1942

RAAF Mark VI Bristol Beaufort, A9-51 (RAF Serial No. T9603), crashed at Bengwarden masthead bombing range and was destroyed by fire on 4 April 1942.

Three crew were killed and two injured as follows:-

KILLED INJURED

F/O J. Haythorn (Instructor)
P/O J.W. Hall (Pilot)
Sgt. R. Zimbulis (Navigator)

Sgt. Edwards (Wireless AIr Gunner)
Sgt. Bennewith (Wirelsee Air Gunner)

This aircraft was originally delivered to the RAAF in May 1942. It was "not taken up".
