The building being built above is today's Queensland Energy Museum. The rail
siding in the above photograph was used by the 5 Transportation and Movements Office
RAAF and the US Liaison Office. The building to the left of the building under
construction was the main building for 3 Stores Depot RAAF.

5 Transportation and Movements Office RAAF was formed in Brisbane on 18 November 1942 under the command of Flying Officer E.J. Dynon. They used a railway siding which is now located beside today's Queensland Energy Museum located behind Energex's Control Centre near the corner of Gregory Terrace and Bowen Bridge Road, Herston.

Squadron Leader R.G. Goodman took over as Commanding Officer of 5TMO on 24 February 1944.

5 TMO used building/s at Byron Street, Bulimba. 

 

The Queensland Energy Museum can be seen beside the railway siding
that was used by 5 Transportation and Movements Office RAAF
