CRASH OF A BOOMERANG
NEAR BELGRAVIA ST. BELMONT,
ABOUT 3 MILES FROM GUILDFORD AIRFIELD, WA

Boomerang A46-70 of 85 Squadron RAAF, piloted by W/O G.S. Cuming, crashed near Belgravia Street, Belmont, which is located about 3 miles from Guildford airfield in Western Australia on 1 November 1944. The Boomerang was totally destroyed. Wreckage was strewn over an area of 100 yards. W/O Cuming was knocked unconscious. He eventually recovered from his back injuries after being admitted to hospital. An official enquiry was held into this accident.
