CRASH OF AN RAAF TIGER MOTH

Tiger Moth

RAAF DHA 893 Tiger Moth, A17-476, left Townsville on a flight to Cairns on 19 July 1942.  It was last sighted in the El Arish area. Killed in this crash were:-

Ian Thomas, son of Flying Officer Maurice Thomas, thought that the Tiger Moth may have crashed into Mt Bartle Frere.
