Lockheed Hudson A16-178 of 2 Squadron RAAF, piloted by Mr. Oldridge, did not return after taking off from Millingimbi on 15 or 16 October 1943. There was no communications with the aircraft after takeoff.
Can anyone confirm the correct date?
Was this aircraft ever located?
This aircraft was involved in an earlier incident when it hit a tree at Drysdale on 14 April 1943.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I would like to thank Phil Herdman of the Arnhem Land Historical Society for
details on the above incident.
