The US Army established Camp Whinstanes on Kingsford Smith Drive, Eagle Farm in Brisbane, Queensland during WW2. Prisoners were held temporarily at Camp Whinstanes during WW2.

Camp Whinstanes is located near lower centre of the above 1944 photograph

It is believed that the Gateway TAFE College, on Woonah Ave, Eagle Farm was the original location of Camp Whinstanes.
