Premier Blinds on Lutwyche Road, Windsor in Brisbane, Queensland manufactured ammunition boxes for the military during WW2. The owner and founder of Premier Blinds, Mr. Arthur Vann (20 Jul 1917 - 22 Nov 2005), employed more than 120 people to manufacture the ammunition boxes.
Arthur Vann had attempted to join armed forces but his business was declared an essential service. Arthur was perplexed by the high standards required by the War Office for the ammunition boxes. Each and every ammunition box was inspected by an inspector to look for any defects.
