The bare piece of land where the 82 year old school building once stood
Photo taken 17 Feb 2002

On Sunday 10 February 2002, arsonists set fire to the historic 82 year old original school building at the Salisbury State Primary School at Henson Road, Salisbury. The 60 metre long building  housed Year 2 and Year 3 students. The Channel 7 TV News reported the fire and in a later bulletin advised that a WW2 underground bunker had been found under the school building.

Another source has told me that this may have been a communications centre during WW2 and that there was a tunnel leading away from the bunker.
